Brief

We were commissioned by VWD Design to develop an app for Meat Promotion Wales entitled 'Student Cookbook' which would provide students with easy nutritious recipes made from Welsh Lamb and Beef, along with hints and tips.

The app needed to be available on both iOS and Android platforms and needed to be simple and intuative.

Solution

We developed a series of wireframes from which VWD could develop the overall look and feel which was based upon the hard copy recipe book.

Each recipe is related to typical student type activities, these include Sausage & Bean Feast, the perfect hangover cure. Selecting a recipe from the list takes the user to a screen split into 3 sections - Summary, Ingredients, and Method.

The App was launched firstly on Android Marketplace and achieved over 300 downloads in the first week. The iOS version is undergoing approval by Apple.
